Jan Gehler
Jan Gehler, born in 1983, studied Creative Writing for the Stage at the University of Hildesheim and from 2013 to 2016 was a director at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden. He directed the world premiere of Wolfgang Herrndorf’s Tschick, which was nominated for the German theatre prize Der Faust. Further work has taken him to the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, the Schauspielhaus Bochum and the Thalia Theater Hamburg. At the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus he most recently staged the world premiere of Fatma Aydemir’s Ellbogen (Elbow) and Mr. Nobody, based on the film by Jaco Van Dormael.
