Robert Lehniger

Robert Lehniger, born in 1974 in Weimar, studied visual communication and media design at the Bauhaus University Weimar. Since then he has worked as a director and video artist. Lehniger’s works are located at the interface between drama and film, and have been staged at numerous theatre and opera houses in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. His production of Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s Katzelmacher was invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen der Jugend in 2015. In Düsseldorf, Lehniger has directed the travelling plays Faust (to go) and Nathan (to go) as well as Abiball (High-School Prom) by Lutz Hübner and Sarah Nemitz in the 2018/19 season.
