Roger Vontobel

Roger Vontobel, born in 1977, has worked at theatres in Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt am Main, Dresden, Paris and Copenhagen. In 2010, his Dresden production of Schiller’s Don Carlos was invited to the Theatertreffen and awarded the German theatre prize Der Faust. Vontobel has been the in-house director of the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus since 2016. Among other things, he has staged the epic Gilgamesh as well as The Merchant of Venice and Hamlet by William Shakespeare.
